Wilderness Survival Weekend

Join Wander Woman as we head to LaCygne Kansas to join Nature Connect Survival School.

Things we will cover - Primitive Fire Making, Water Purification Techniques, Shelter-Building, Making Cordage, Bushcraft Cooking Methods, Staying Warm In The Wilderness, Handy Knots, Primitive Trap-setting, Foraging,  Wilderness Safety.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Fee is non-refundable. Please contact jessica@wanderwomanks.com if you cannot make this event so that another participant will have the opportunity to go. No-Call No-Show to any event will prevent you from signing up to future events.

Get there when you can and leave when you need to. If you miss something on Friday due to a late arrival, we'll be happy to cover it with you after classes conclude on Sunday.

On-site camping is available during class (Friday at noon through Sunday at noon). NCSS camping areas are a moderate walk from the parking area. Please be prepared to transport your camping gear by foot to the camping area. The trail from the parking area to the campsites are roughly 100 to 200 yards. You will be responsible for your own camping gear, food and drinks during the class. Fire pits are available at the campsites.

Mandatory Items: 

• Knife (suitable for carving) 

• Folding saw or hatchet 

• Cordage (550 Paracord or comparable – preferably 50 feet) 

• Water Bottle 

• Tarp (5’X7’ is an ideal size) 

Recommended Items: 

• Comfortable clothing 

• Rain Gear 

• Gloves 

• Bug Repellant (Seasonal) 

• Warm Layers (Seasonal) 

• Any snacks you’d like to have during class

• Sunblock 

• Any medications you take 

• Hat 

• Wet naps/hand sanitizer 

• Small note pad and pen/pencil

Camping Supplies:

• Tent

• Tarp

• Bedding - Cot, air mattress

• Pillow, sleeping bag, blanket

• Cooking supplies

• Eating utensils

• Toiletry bag
