About the event

Join Wander Woman during our third year of our VIP Gals, Guns, and Guacamole series!

VIP members will come together to learn all things shotgun related. This series will be an informal night covering fundamentals of shotguns all the way to meeting to shoot clay targets.

This event will be in three parts with three dates.

  1. September 19, 2024: We will meet in Overland Park (address to come) for night one. Our first night we will discuss parts of a shotgun and proper gun fit. Feel free to bring your own shotgun to learn more about its funcionality, or test the fit of other shotguns we will have on site. We will not be shooting during this event, so please do not bring any shotgun shells with you.
  2. September 26, 2024: We will meet at Powder Creek Shooting Park for night two. During this second session we will cover choke tubes, patterning, and how to read a shotgun ammunition box so you grab the correct shells for the activity you are doing. Please bring your ear and eye protection. You do not need to bring a shotgun or ammunition to this class.
  3. October 3, 2024: Now that we have covered types of shotguns, choke tubes, and ammunition - we are finally ready to start shooting targets!

We will meet at the clubhouse where you will purchase 50 sporting clay targets. You will need two boxes of shotgun shells with you that match the gauge of your gun you are shooting. If you need to borrow a shotgun, please inform us before the event.

  1. Bring eye and ear protection
  2. Sturdy shoes to shoot in
  3. Comfortable clothing to shoot in and spend time outside
