Birds & Brunch: Pheasant Hunt

Come join Wander Woman for a morning of upland hunting followed by brunch to discuss our successes, challenges and spend time with experienced upland hunters to talk about the sport.

Event will begin at the game farm located in Troy, Kansas and after we finish our hunt, we'll grab a brunch at the Feed Store Cafe in Troy, about 5-10 minutes away from the hunting grounds.  

We'll start our hunt with a clay warm up, brief safety meeting, group picture and then we are off to hunt natural grasses over excited bird dogs.  Hunters should expect to walk approximately 2.5 to 3 miles in variable terrain.  Experience is not required for this hunt, guides ask that you are able to demonstrate safe gun handling and compliance with guide directions.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Fee is non-refundable. Please be in touch if you cannot make this trip after registering. 

Gear Needed:

-Durable Boots

-Durable pants and long sleeves

-Hunter Orange Hat/Vest

-12 Ga or small shotgun (rentals available)

-Shotgun shell size 4-6 (Lead is OK, non-toxic shot preferred)

-Kansas Hunting License or KS CSA License  (apprentice hunters may be discussed with guides)

-Ziplock bags and cooler to transport meat home

Hunt includes:

-Guided game farm hunt with approximate 4 birds per hunter

-Game processing, if desired

-Hands on mentorship with guide

Hunt does not include:

-Guide gratuities

-Meals

Please note this is a game farm, and pen raised birds are used for this hunting experience.  Your fee includes a price per bird, but this does not guarantee that all birds will be found. The guides and dogs will put in a good faith effort to find as many birds as possible and present as many opportunities, but no guarantees can be made for shooting opportunities or harvests.  A variety of conditions can improve or hinder the hunting experience which are out of the guides control, including but not limited to wind speeds, temperatures, humidity and predators.
