What is an antler, and why does it shed?

Updated: Sep 14

I only started white tail deer hunting alone a few years ago here in Kansas. The sport was fairly new for me, but always had my dad as a mentor.

One of the hobbies that goes hand in hand with deer hunting, is shed hunting. This fun activity allows you to get outdoors to hike different Kansas spots to find these dropped treasures.

Not only is it great for beginners that enjoy the sport, it has tons of other benefits for land owners and hunters.

This first video covers some basic topics of whitetail deer and their antlers.
