Learn To Hunt - Upland

Join Wander Woman for the second session in the Learn to Hunt: Upland Series!  

This session we will take our round table discussion from 11/16 to the field for a hands-on, immersive experience.   On Saturday 12/3 ladies will meet the guides in the field.   We will start with paperwork, and a field safety meeting led by the guides.  Each group will then have the opportunity to experience an upland hunt with experienced guides and dogs.  Each brace will be limited to six hunters, but there are unlimited spots to observe and ask questions.  There will be approximately 3 game birds placed per hunter. At the end of the hunt, guides will demonstrate processing for hunters and either process for you or help you process your own game.  Each brace will run about 3-3.5 hours.   

There will be two braces: 

-9:00am

-1:00pm  

Each hunter should plan to walk approximately 4-5 miles in variable terrain.  It is not required but highly encouraged that hunters attended Session 1 of this Learn to Hunt Series.  Experience with a shotgun is required for this hunt due to safety of the dogs.  

Gear needed (will be covered in Session 1): 

-Durable boots -Durable pants 

-12 Ga Shotgun or smaller 

-Shotgun shells size 5-6 (lead is OK) 

-KS Hunting License or KS CSA license
